just_fo_ucrew: Roomate for next semester

Hi, I signed up for Spring Abroad Housing for this year. Unfortunetly, I am not going abroad, so I am looking for a room to move into for next semester. As of now I'm homeless.

Thanks for your help :)

Are any of you taking Media Law (SMPA 173... formerly JOUR 150) in the fall? I have the book and would be willing to sell it for $15 to anyone who is interested. It's in really good condition, with a little highlighting, and I still have the CD. I e-mailed Professor Stern and he is planning on using the same book in the fall. It's like $80 to buy it new, and knowing the GW Bookstore, it won't be much less to buy it used... but I will sell you mine for $15. Media Law is a required class for journalism majors, and it's also really interesting... one of the best classes I have taken at GW. Let me know if you want to buy the book.

m1lesteg: "Major" Emergency

A friend of mine is going through a bit of a crisis: as a chemistry major, she's having a very hard time getting into a bunch of the courses she needs to take next semester - I think she's got maybe 7 credits. Most e-mails to professors in these classes have gotten negative responses, so she finds herself in a really tough spot.

Is there any way to go over the professor's heads or something and get into classes? This isn't a case of wanting, it's a case of having to take these classes, and it seems kind of ridiculous that the university put her in a position in which she can't complete her major and then offer no solutions.

carolynlovessex: help! i won't graduate from college in 2008, but i'm nice...

Hey, I'm Carolyn. I'm still waiting to hear back from GWU about my acceptance, but I just applied ED I this fall and I can't stop thinking about what life will (hopefully) be like as a student. I'm trying to pick out a dorm, but I don't know where to start. I was wondering if anybody in this community can help me find the perfect dorm, and dish out general first year advice. I think i want to live in a quad or a five. City Hall looks nice, but is it realistic for a freshman to live in the nice dorms? Please help.

If you like working with kids and are still looking for a work-study job (or a volunteer opportunity) then I suggest that you look into Jumpstart!

Jumpstart corps members are part of Americorps and travel twice a week to local pre-school programs to work one-on-one with a student for the duration of a school year.

BUT I have noone to go with...If anyone else is having a bike in DC or is capable/willing to rent one and join me please let me know!! I will be going by myself if noone else does :(

Hi! My name is Caitlin and I am a transfer student for the fall 2005. I have been assigned Pelham 214W (which is a single). This is everything I DIDN'T want. I am really looking for a roommate(s) on the foggy bottom campus. The housing department says that I need to wait 3 weeks inorder to switch my housing. Not knowing anyone on campus and doubting I will find a person who wants to move out right away I came here.

If anyone wants or knows someone who would want a single please comment and Ill be happy to switch.

I'll take any dorm on the Foggy Bottom campus with any amount of rommies...

Have you ever wondered how we dont have 101 classes?

I happen to be taking some classes at the university of maryland and they looked at my transcript earlier. The man goes you took : Chem 011? What is that?

The only way to prove to him that is the eqivalent of chem101 at any other school I had to show my textbook and my pervious exams.

It's ridiculous. These ridiculously random numbers after class names might make us original... but they make us sound somewhat stupid.
